Occasionally customers put their equipment in for an annual service, only to find out that the the service kits are very hard to source, and sometimes not even available. This turns a quick, affordable service into a time consuming and very expensive experience.
If you are in the market for a new regulator, BC or dive computer, remember to do your research and find out how much a full service is, how much service parts costs and which dive shops can service the gear. You may find that you are getting a great price on a regulator but there is no after sales service available to you.
Whenever you make a diving equipment purchase, especially with life-support equipment, always think long term. How long will this regulator last and what warranty is included?
